Our Pothole Patching Process

2

Clean The Surface

We clean the damaged area and the surface around it.

2

Cutting Out The Damaged Asphalt

Using specialized equipment, we cut out the pothole and up to 6 inches beyond to remove the damaged asphalt.

2

Clear Away Debris & Dry The Area

After clearing away any remaining asphalt and debris, we dry the area.

2

Replenish Subgrade

If water has eroded the subgrade, we replenish it so it’s level with the surrounding area.

2

Fill The Area With New Asphalt

Next, we fill the area with a hot mix or cold patch. A cold patch is sufficient for quick fixes before resurfacing, but a hot mix provides a longer-lasting repair.

2

Tamp The Area For Seamless Repair

We tamp down or roll over the new asphalt to pack it down until it is level with the surrounding pavement and hard for a seamless pothole repair.

PRO TIP: Have us apply sealcoating to the entire surface after crack filling and pothole patching for added protection and to make your pavement look brand new.

Why Should I Repair Potholes?

Repairing potholes prevents further damage, requiring costly replacement. Potholes make your pavement unsafe for pedestrians and vehicles.

If you don’t repair potholes when you first notice them, they continue to deepen and widen, causing extensive damage and can lead to damaging vehicles or worse.

East Texas parking lots and roadways must comply with ADA regulations. Failing to address potholes and cracks promptly can lead to fines and hurt your business because your property is unsafe.

Ace Pavement Solutions provides quality pothole patching services to residential and commercial properties, helping to keep Longview's pavement safe and accessible.

Don’t wait to repair potholes. They only get worse and more costly to fix.

Pothole Repair FAQs

  • How does pothole repair improve road safety?

Pothole repair improves road safety by eliminating hazards that can cause accidents. Filling potholes prevents vehicles from experiencing sudden jolts or loss of control, reducing the risk of damage to tires and suspension. Smooth, even pavement ensures safer driving conditions for all road users.

  • How soon can the repaired area be used after pothole repair?

The repaired area can typically be used within 24 hours of the pothole repair. However, the exact time may vary depending on the materials used and weather conditions. It's important to allow the repair to set properly to ensure durability and effectiveness.

  • What causes potholes to form in pavement?

Potholes form when water seeps into cracks in the pavement, cools, and expands, causing the pavement to break apart. Repeated cold and heat cycles, combined with the stress of vehicle traffic, weaken the pavement structure, eventually forming potholes.

  • What is the best time of year to repair potholes?

The best time of year to repair potholes is during warmer, dry weather, typically in the spring or summer. These conditions allow the repair materials to adhere and cure properly. Avoiding rainy or freezing weather ensures a more effective and long-lasting repair.

  • How does pothole repair affect the appearance of my pavement?

Pothole repair significantly improves the appearance of your pavement by eliminating unsightly holes and creating a smooth, uniform surface. Repairing potholes and cracks enhances the overall look of your property, making it more attractive and well-maintained, which is essential for East Texas residential and commercial properties.
